About the DC Guaranteed Income Coalition
In 2024, Mothers Outreach Network created the DC Guaranteed Income Coalition to deepen our advocacy work and fight for policies that reflect what families need on the ground. Year-over-year, the coalition organizes public events, rallies and community meetings to bring guaranteed income into the mainstream conversation – and demonstrate its ability to reduce child poverty and housing instability across the district.
To ensure the coalition has what it needs to succeed, MON creates programming, facilitates meetings, handles all logistics and coordination and designs communication materials for each convening.
The coalition is the vehicle for MON’s efforts to empower Black mothers, keep families together and challenge the childware and legal systems that continue to punish poverty.
This is about food, home, and medical care. It is not asking for the moon. It is basic human rights.
