Let’s move the agenda for guaranteed income for Washington DC!
Disruptive policymaking is already adversely impacting vulnerable communities across the country, including in Washington DC. Against this backdrop, the DC Guaranteed Income Coalition stands with the fight for liberation and economic justice for DC residents and workers. In that vein, let’s tell City leaders to hold fast to our policy agenda.
The time is ripe for us to share our expertise and Coalition priorities with DC Council members and staff as well as with Mayor Bowser. We’re coordinating drop-in visits at the Wilson Building and preparing for upcoming DC Council performance and budget oversight hearings. To ready ourselves for this advocacy, volunteers and trained peer advocates are available to provide assistance. Those seeking support can access any of our virtual prep sessions of different sizes that we’ve begun scheduling for the months of February and March.

To help you write your testimony, we’ll start with talking points framed by the DC Guaranteed Income Coalition platform’s priorities. The testimony can be tailored for presentation before Council committees that include the following:
