Let’s move the guaranteed income agenda in Washington DC!
This upcoming MONDAY evening, don’t miss the DC Guaranteed Income Coalition’s hybrid January event, Guaranteed Income: Black Men Need It Too!
The Center on American Progress reports that while the U.S. economy is improving for many, Black men are suffering from persistent structural racism in the labor market. Our January 29th meeting will explore the critical question: How can we include Black men in low-wage jobs in the Guaranteed Income movement? Don’t miss the conversation led by organizers Robert Harvey, Dia King, Michael Leslie, Dominic Moulden, Maurice Cook, and Kelvin Lassiter.
Come out and join us THIS Monday, January 29th from 5:30 – 7:30 PM! This is the second in a series kicked off in the spring of 2023 to amplify, target, and support the needs of this often-overlooked group of Black men in our community.
Join us in-person at the ONE DC Black Workers and Wellness Center or register to attend via Zoom: bit.ly/DCGICJan2024

The District Child Tax Credit could become the latest program in the local D.C. tax code arsenal to combat poverty. Let’s ensure our neighbors claim all the credits currently available to them.
Just in time for tax season, Mother’s Outreach Network is joining forces with Restaurant Opportunities Center-DC to host a low-income tax workshop and clinic NEXT TUESDAY, January 30 from 5:30 to 7:30pm! The event will focus on people in low-wage jobs and parents eligible for low-income tax credits.
What refundable tax credits paid in cash could you or your constituents be leaving unclaimed? Learn how to claim low-income tax credits at the Mother’s Outreach Network free Parents’ & Workers’ Low Income Tax Workshop and Brief Advice Clinic. As the 2024 tax season kicks off, MON will provide an overview of local DC and federal tax credits available to DC’s low wage workers and parents. Following the workshop, attendees can sign up for 1-on-1 consultation advice on the following:
- Unclaimed 2021 Child Tax Credits,
- Earned Income Tax Credits
- Additional Local Credits for Childcare and so much more!
Join us @ 5:30 PM on Tuesday, January 30th. You’re welcome to join us in person at The Festival Center or virtually on Zoom!
